Three Quarterbacks, All Of Them Nervous

De'Von Achane and Saquon Barkley back to back is the best two-pick sequence in the room, and Tyler Warren at tight end fills the one slot that ruins seasons. Ladd McConkey and Garrett Wilson give the receiver corps a spine. This is a well-built offense.

The quarterbacks are the argument. Matthew Stafford is the anchor, a veteran whose back has been a recurring preseason storyline for years now. Jordan Love is the upside swing. Geno Smith is the third, which is admirable roster hygiene in superflex, because three arms means a bye week is a shrug instead of a crisis. But none of the three is the kind of passer who wins a week by himself, and in a six-point-passing-touchdown format that is where the points live. Keshia built a running back team and then had to start two quarterbacks anyway.

The back half doubles down on the backfield: Jaylen Warren, Tony Pollard and Aaron Jones Sr. behind Achane and Barkley is five running backs for two slots, and Jones in particular is a veteran whose seasons keep getting interrupted. Xavier Worthy and Khalil Shakir round out the receivers with a pair of guys whose production swings entirely on whether their quarterback looks their way. Trey Smack with the second-to-last pick is a fine place to find a kicker. The Steelers defense is the Steelers defense. The core is excellent, the arms are a group project, and the bench is running backs stacked on running backs.
